This anonymous psalm definitely had a proverbs kind of moment! The author had been calling God to deal with the enemies of his people. And to those who think that God doesn’t matter, he has some lines for you.

The fool refuses to pursue wisdom. He thinks that God can’t hear the words he says. He thinks that God can’t see the things he does. He believes that God doesn’t care and won’t have anything to say about the way he lives his life. He even thinks he can hide his thoughts from God. There is hope for the hypocrite, but that hope is centered in God, not self. Don’t live and act as if God doesn’t matter!–JMB
