1Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered.
2Blessed is the man against whom the LORD counts no iniquity,
and in whose spirit there is no deceit.–Psalm 32
Just let those words sink in. Forgiven. Covered. No longer counting the iniquity. For the sinner with no hope of paying his or her eternal bill this is the greatest news. I mean, my goodness, I was getting ice cream with my wife and kids recently and the cashier told me he was putting it all on his tab. I remember feeling so thankful and appreciative in that moment. And that was just a cool treat on a hot day. Can you imagine the gratefulness I feel regarding God and my sin?
That’s the point. The forgiven are grateful. We are appreciative. We gather to sing His praises. We emotionally say ‘thank you’ at every opportunity. But we can’t harbor deceit in our hearts. Our repentance has to be genuine. So how should you live moving forward in this truly blessed reality? How can this Gospel change the way you live?
- OWN ABOUT YOURSELF WHAT YOU CAN AND SHOULD OWN.
- FORGIVE AND SHOW GRACE TO THE UNDESERVING.
- BE INTENTIONAL ABOUT BIBLICALLY STOPPING AND STARTING KEY THINGS IN YOUR LIFE.
Stay grateful and intentional, my friends.–JMB
