9I have told the glad news of deliverance in the great congregation; behold, I have not restrained my lips, as you know, O LORD.
10I have not hidden your deliverance within my heart; I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation; I have not concealed your steadfast love and your faithfulness from the great congregation.–Psalm 40
David always seemed to be in some kind of danger. And as God delivered him again and again, David made that salvation known.
How has God been faithful in your life?
In what ways has God provided for your needs?
How has the Gospel specifically changed the way you live?
What hope do you now have for your marriage, parenting, or relationships?
How is God using your story for His glory?
Everyone with enough time in recovery could speak of their rock-bottom past. As the sobriety turns from days to weeks to months and even to years we as Christians give credit to our Higher Power, Jesus Christ. It’s an advantage my brothers and sisters in recovery seem to have. We readily and freely give credit to Jesus for we know we are not the heroes of our own stories. This needs to be your approach to life, my friend. Your actions, attitudes, and words should glorify God as you speak of your salvation. Live differently and give credit when asked where it’s due. Just remember, your life is more about Jesus and less about yourself.–JMB
