Two Exclusive Matters

6Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

27Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.–John 14

I attend a counseling conference each year as part of the ongoing training for my biblical counseling certification. I have attended both virtually and in person. The only way I can participate in the conference is if I register through the organization. And by the first day of the conference I will have received a box of helpful items. One of those items is a conference T-shirt that you can only get if you are registered for that specific conference. I wear those conference t-shirts all the time.

It was a cheesy example, but it fits. Jesus provides an exclusive path to the Father. And Jesus provides a peace to the heart that nobody else can provide. So your faith needs to be exclusive in Jesus if you expect to receive either of those two blessings. Jesus exclusively provides peace with God and peace within. What Jesus provides you can only get through Jesus. You are either exclusively trusting Jesus in faith for those things or you are not. That’s what it all comes down to. Faith is an either/or and not a both/and.–JMB
