The Pondered Path

21For a man’s ways are before the eyes of the LORD, and he ponders all his paths.–Proverbs 5

Sorry this one is so late. I was in California at a biblical counseling conference all week. The final day was yesterday and I had an overnight flight back home. Jen and the kids picked me up at the airport at 5am. But these blog devotions are a daily discipline for me. Thanks for journeying alongside me.

What this simple proverb tell us is that everything we do in life is known to God. The paths we take are pondered by God. If you were to take a step back and consider the great narrative of your life, would it reveal that you are traveling the same paths that you once did? Are you walking more with Jesus or with yourself? Are you living a life of self-denial or self-pursuit?

We cannot hide from God. We shouldn’t even try to. If you are stuck in a sinful moment or season, turn back to God. The best path of all starts with confession, leads to repentance, and involves diligence. That is all of our stories.

Give God glory with your daily decisions. If God ponders your paths then it makes sense that YOU ponder your paths. This eliminates being hasty and reactionary.–JMB
