Israel [1-minute read]

44Yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not spurn them, neither will I abhor them so as to destroy them utterly and break my covenant with them, for I am the LORD their God.45But I will for their sake remember the covenant with their forefathers, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God: I am the LORD.”–Leviticus 26

Let’s present two options that affect an understanding of the end-times:

  1. Does this (and other big prophecies like this) make the most sense as fulfilled literally in a national, political Israel?
  2. If so, then Israel is uniquely God’s chosen people with a special end-times lane separate from the church.
  3. Or are God’s chosen people now defined by Messiah Yeshua and their relationship with Him? In Jesus the promises to the patriarchs would therefore find their fulfillment.
  4. If so, then there is only one unified end-times lane for God’s people in Jesus.
  5. The church never replaces Israel, but in terms of fulfillment and our understanding of the end-times, Jesus does.–JMB

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise. (Galatians 3:28-29)

Frightening scenarios depicted when Israel goes astray. God has been so merciful to us. Even here in the USA where He has undoubtedly poured out His Mercy and Grace time and time again. Personally, I must take inventory again and address my own attitudes and behaviors. Blessings today.
