29Now Moses said to Hobab son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, “We are setting out for the place about which the Lord said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us and we will treat you well, for the Lord has promised good things to Israel.”
30He answered, “No, I will not go; I am going back to my own land and my own people.”
31But Moses said, “Please do not leave us. You know where we should camp in the wilderness, and you can be our eyes. 32If you come with us, we will share with you whatever good things the Lordgives us.”
33So they set out from the mountain of the Lord and traveled for three days. The ark of the covenant of the Lord went before them during those three days to find them a place to rest. 34The cloud of the Lord was over them by day when they set out from the camp.–Numbers 10, with emphasis
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)
- THE WILDERNESS GUIDE WASN’T GOING TO LEAD THEM.
- THEY WOULD HAVE TO DEPEND UPON GOD TO GET THEM TO THEIR DESTINATION.
- ISRAEL’S JOURNEY WOULD HIGHLIGHT GOD’S PROVISION AND NOT MAN’S.
- GOD DIDN’T LEAVE THEM. HE BOTH LED FROM THE FRONT AND PROTECTED FROM ABOVE.
- IF YOU CLAIM TO FOLLOW GOD, ARE YOU ACTUALLY FOLLOWING HIS WORD?
- WHO DO YOU DEPEND UPON FOR YOUR DAILY GUIDANCE AND DIRECTION?
- WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR THE GOD WHO DOESN’T LEAVE, BUT IS WITH US!–JMB
