Many years ago, my Mom was a summer missionary with Child Evangelism Fellowship and I was her tagalong. I remember hearing the Gospel message at various 5-Day-Clubs throughout the Central Illinois area. I accepted Jesus as my Savior after one of those clubs. I remember Mom praying with me and Dad later baptizing me. God would later call me to full-time pastoral ministry, and I have had the honor of serving in churches for over 20 years.
After retiring from a career teaching Kindergarten students, my Mom again serves as a missionary with Child Evangelism Fellowship. And my son, Joshua, will later this month serve for a week alongside Grandma Susan as a junior missionary helper at various 5-Day-Clubs. I will be attending a week of missions work in Honduras this summer with my church and Joshua wanted to serve on a missions trip like Daddy.
My wife and I wanted to send Joshua with some missionary support to not only help cover the transportation costs for a week of ministry, but also to be a blessing to Grandma Susan as she has to raise her own missionary budget.
