24A second time they summoned the man who had been blind. “Give glory to God by telling the truth,” they said. “We know this man [Jesus] is a sinner.”
25He replied, “Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!”
26Then they asked him, “What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?”
27He answered, “I have told you already and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you want to become his disciples too?”–John 9
- The formerly blind man didn’t waste his time on what he didn’t know.
- He simply rested on what and who he did know.
- His closing line even hints that he had followed the miracle by becoming a disciple of Jesus.
- Many with anxiety mentally invest in areas that involve the unknown. Those rarely bring a profit, but usually more fear. I don’t know what tomorrow brings!
- The answer in those moments is to focus on what and who you do know. But I know God’s got this! He’s in control of my tomorrows.
- Those with depression write mental stories that keep them locked down. The worst ones involve what they don’t know. Everyone probably hates me after I did that. I am the worst and just don’t have any value to anyone.
- Write mental stories instead that rest upon what you do know! Use the Bible as your guide. I shouldn’t focus on what others think, but I should focus on God. And God not only values me, but has a plan for my life!–JMB
