Always Ready

1Remind the believers to submit to the government and its officers. They should be obedient, always ready to do what is good. 2They must not slander anyone and must avoid quarreling. Instead, they should be gentle and show true humility to everyone.–Titus 3

  1. It is said that Nero once wanted more torches for his garden and so he lit Christians on fire to provide light. That is who was Caesar when Paul wrote the verse to Titus. If Paul could submit to an evil tyrant, you can submit to your government.
  2. Are you always ready to do what is good?
  3. Do you live for drama, issues, or arguments? Do you look for those opportunities? Some people instead are always ready to fight.
  4. Or are you known to be a gentle, humble person?
  5. A genuinely strong person shows it through self-control, by gentleness and humility, not in selfish fighting or maintaining grudges against people.–JMB
