27“All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.–Matthew 11

I picked my son up from his middle school church event last night. And as I was driving, Joshua said these words to me: “You know what? Only two people get to call you what I call you. Just me and my sister. We get to call you ‘Dad.’”

1. Not in terms of biology, but regarding uniqueness and relationship, Joshua was making a similar point as Jesus.
2. Jesus indeed claimed to be unique. Nobody ever was or is like Jesus.
3. Jesus uniquely revealed the unseen God of the universe.
4. God the Father has uniquely committed authority to God the Son.
5. You want to live a life that pleases God? Follow the Biblical words of Jesus.
6. To know God is to know Jesus. Treat Jesus appropriately.
7. Every good earthly father gets this. You won’t get anywhere with me if you mistreat my kids.–JMB
