7Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. 8You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.–James 5

1. Our world lives for the things that bring division among peoples.
2. Just look at all the division involving politics, race, sexuality, gender, and status.
3. We are waiting for Jesus to return.
4. When you plant something, you patiently wait for it to grow. You don’t get impatient and tear everything out of the ground.
5. We need to be patient with each other and trusting in God’s timing.
6. We need to stand firm on the matters that unite us. Jesus Christ. The hope of the Gospel. The humbling fact that we are all sinners.
7. May Jesus find us with these attitudes at His return. Not arguing politics.–JMB
