24A person’s steps are directed by the Lord. How then can anyone understand their own way?–Proverbs 20

Then [Jesus] said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self? (Luke 9:23-25)

1. I journey with people who are in recovery.
2. Every single one of those friends has hit rock bottom and are looking for hope.
3. Anyone in recovery has traveled their own way, and it has led them to a troubled place.
4. They therefore naturally understand the second half of the verse.
5. The true joy is found in understanding that God authors our stories.
6. He uses our broken messes for His message. Our stories for His glory!
7. Ponder how you are being directed by God today. Read the above Luke verses again.–JMB
