7My heart, O God, is steadfast, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music. –Psalm 57
- The Hebrews word for “steadfast” also translates to “determined, ready, certain, prepared, established.”
- Does that describe your heart regarding the things that matter most to God? These are the clear teachings of the Bible.
- We live in a time period where other issues are divisive points for us. These are for many people political or social matters. And for some people, these are all that seem to matter.
- A steadfast heart is united concerning the things that matter most. Please reread point number two above.
- The steadfast heart finds reasons to praise God, even though life is difficult.
- David was singing this psalm when he fled from the evil King Saul into a cave. His life was on the line. What mattered most to him was honoring God and not killing Saul even when he had the chance.
- Difficult moments and seasons in life provide opportunities to be steadfast about the right things and to sing praise to God.–JMB
