5Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. 6Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. 7My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. 8Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.–Psalm 62
This was once a prayer of David. Let’s take these in order and ask questions.
- Where does your soul find rest? Where is your hope? It is either in the things of this world or in God.
- Is God your fortress? Do you regularly turn to Him?
- Does your salvation depend upon you and your choice or upon God and His choice?
- Does verse 8 describe the way you live your life? Especially when times are rough?
- This is a lot for us to think about. Especially because these questions address the hidden, unseen part of you.–JMB
