The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness…(Romans 1:18)

For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:9)

1. The word “saved” implies a question. Saved from what?
2. The just, Holy God has to give sin His wrath.
3. Jesus saves us from that wrath that our sins deserve. His death was a penal substitutionary atonement.
4. You are either trusting in Jesus for this or you are not.
5. In secular recovery programs, people trust whatever higher power they can grasp.
6. In Celebrate Recovery, we acknowledge the only Higher Power that actually is powerful, who actually can save. Jesus.
7. David meant his psalm literally, but I applied it spiritually. Where do you sit regarding your need for salvation? Who or what do you trust?–JMB
