18The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness…–Romans 1
For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:9)
- For God to be a just Judge, wickedness and sin must get His wrath.
- This is what is meant when a Christian uses the word “saved.” A repentant follower of Jesus is saved from this very wrath of God.
- The only way this works is if my sins are placed on Jesus who receives the wrath of God in my place.
- Thus, God’s wrath is satisfied and my sins receive what they are due.
- I however am saved from that wrath. Jesus died in my place and paid the price for my sins.
- Considering sinless Jesus and sinful me, this is the cross seems like the most unfair transaction in history.
- Do you see this also as your story? Do you trust Jesus alone for salvation from God’s wrath?–JMB
