Night and Day

11And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. 14Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.–Romans 13

  1. Regarding your faith, what has been “asleep” and needs to “wake up?”
  2. Does your life most resemble deeds you do in darkness or “armor” you wear during the day?
  3. Read the list in verse 13. How serious are you about this?
  4. Put off the old, former you, and put on Jesus every day.
  5. Don’t waste mental energy thinking about gratifying your selfishness.
  6. I used to struggle mightily in this area, and used to be a hypocrite.
  7. But I owned my mess, got help, pursued accountability, and now celebrate many years of sobriety. How about your life?–JMB
