Fasting and Tattoos

5One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. 6The one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. The one who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since he gives thanks to God, while the one who abstains, abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God.–Romans 14

  1. People live the Christian faith in different ways.
  2. Some would never drink alcohol and others do so moderately.
  3. Some regularly follow the Sabbath and others do not.
  4. Some would make fasting a regular part of their life and others do not.
  5. Some would never get a tattoo and others do so freely.
  6. Paul’s point in this chapter is to let the different person honor God in sincerity and with thanksgiving.
  7. Remember, the Jesus who unites us is more important than the other things that might divide us.–JMB
