…but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. (James 1:14-15)

1. I remember my journey with addictive behavior began when I saw “cooler” older students in high school participating in it.
2. I wanted to belong and yet my own sinful desire was at work within me.
3. That journey would impact the next 10-15 years of my life.
4. I now celebrate many years of sobriety, but I first had to take my sin seriously.
5. I had to own what I could own, get help, and then pursue biblical accountability.
6. That is your story too, my friends. Whether it is at the beginning, and you are facing temptation or years later as you still face temptation.
7. That enticement is either going to come from others or from within yourself, or even from both. Take your sin seriously.–JMB
