The Way of the Fool

15The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.–Proverbs 12

In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes. (Judges 21:25)

Israel was never more rebellious than in the book of Judges. They were fools because they were their own standard.
Being right in.your own eyes discounts the standards of God.
If the standard encourages you be yourself instead of following God, then you are living as a fool.
If you are allowed to simply follow your heart then others can do the same and society crumbles into moral relativism and selfish narcissism.
If you are a proclaimed follower of Jesus but instead follow your own heart, then you are living as a functional hypocrite.
Your “God” is either selfishly within you or selflessly not you. You are either submitting to God or being led along by whatever feels right to you.
If you claim to follow Jesus, then submit to the guidance of the Bible and are receive counsel by trusted friends or mentors who thus apply the Bible to your situations.–JMB
