8The prudent understand where they are going, but fools deceive themselves.–Proverbs 14

“The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? (Jeremiah 17:9)

1. Some people understand life and live in reality, while others are stuck in denial and refuse to accept reality.
2. These kind of people rationalize their own selfishness and justify any hypocrisy in their own lives.
3. People who follow their heart gleefully are deceived by that same heart.
4. The truth is that each of us has a selfish, sin problem. That sin destroys relationships and separates you from God.
5. The proverb mentions knowing where you are going. Ultimately, the unrepentant sinner is going to Hell.
6. Your only hope is to NOT follow your heart, but to repent and get help regarding your sin struggles and to make amends to the ones you have wronged, if it is appropriate to do so.
7. Seek understanding and stop living in denial and being deceived by your own selfish heart. I know that I had to in my recovery journey.–JMB
