11“This is what the Lord says: ‘Out of your own household I am going to bring calamity on you. Before your very eyes I will take your wives and give them to one who is close to you, and he will sleep with your wives in broad daylight. 12You did it in secret, but I will do this thing in broad daylight before all Israel.’ ”
13Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.”–2 Samuel 12
Have mercy on me [David], O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. (Psalm 51:1-2)

- However, the prophet Nathan confronted David on those very sins.
- David, to his credit, fully owned up to his sins.
- I invite you to read all of 2 Samuel 12 and then follow up with David’s prayer to God in Psalm 51. I have presented just portions for you today.
- What sin are you hiding that you need to own?

- How you confess and repent defines your tolerance for your own hypocrisy. I know it did and does for me.–JMB
