28Absalom lived two years in Jerusalem without seeing the king’s face.–2 Samuel 14
- Absalom at this point was an enemy of his father David.
- Absalom had been on the run, but had been brought back to the city in order for David to deal with him.
- Even though Absalom had committed a crime, David refused to deal with his son.
- David was too passive in this area regarding justice and punishing his son.
- What is that one thing you refuse to deal with?
- Maybe it’s a broken relationship and you refuse to own what you can own or make amends. Maybe it’s your sinful habits that you have made an idol of?
- This used to be my problem. But I owned my issues, got help, and pursued accountability. How about the “Absalom” living in “your city?”–JMB
