28You [God] save the humble, but your eyes are on the haughty to bring them low.–2 Samuel 22
For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. (Matthew 23:12)
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. (James 4:10)
Haughty eyes and a proud heart— the unplowed field of the wicked—produce sin. (Proverbs 21:4)
I [God] will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their sins. I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless. (Isaiah 13:11)
- Sins are serious issues.
- You are either humble and repentant about them…
- …or you are proud, arrogant, and haughty about them.
- I gave you two biblical passages above for each choice. David’s verse at the top is very clear.
- Only the humble path results in salvation.
- The haughty path results in destruction.
- Forget about everyone else’s sins right now. Leave politics and society aside. How you respond to your own hypocrisies and sins matters with God and will ultimately define your destiny.–JMB
