Two Dinner Invites

9Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God.”…

17And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, 18so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and the mighty, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, great and small.”–Revelation 19

  1. The church is pictured in the New Testament as the Bride of the Lamb/Jesus.
  2. So the first invite is to that heavenly wedding feast.
  3. In between the two invites is the return of Christ. The great second advent of our Risen Lord. History ends, then, as we know it.
  4. The armies of the Unholy Trinity (Dragon, Beast, and False Prophet) gather against Jesus and His armies.
  5. The second invite is for the vultures to come and get ready to eat the bodies of God’s dead enemies.
  6. Armageddon is pictured in Scripture as quick and total. Satan and his minions are thrown into the lake of fire and the rest of his armies are killed.
  7. The question may seem morbid, and it is two different meals, but if you are around then, will you be an eater or the eaten? If you are a follower of Jesus, you will eat with him at a wedding banquet. If you oppose Jesus, you will be eaten dead on a battlefield by vultures. Remember, there is no middle ground or third option. Trust in Jesus for your salvation, my friend. You only want to be invited to one of these dinners!–JMB
