Evil Has an End

10And the devil, who deceived them [the nations], was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

11Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.

13The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.–Revelation 20

  1. The Unholy Trinity (dragon, beast, false prophet) will one day be tormented in a lake of fire forever.
  2. All those who ever lived who rejected Jesus will one day join them in that lake of fire.
  3. Society loves to divide people by many categories. The final judgment will only divide between whether your name is written in the book of life or it is not.
  4. Your allegiance has either been to Jesus or it has not. All in these final categories are unified by their choices rather than divided. All for Jesus or all for Satan.
  5. Furthermore, every person being judged by every decision they have made.
  6. These are written in one of God’s books. This is a sobering reality. Terrifying for the hider, but encouraging for the faithful.
  7. Evil has an end. We praise God for His justice and His judgments and remain grateful for Jesus, who on the cross bore them in our place.–JMB
