18For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.–1 Corinthians 1

1. The message of the cross is that you cannot save yourself from the wrath God must justly give your sin.
2. That is foolish to the ones who are prideful and ruggedly independent.
3. The message of the cross is also that in order to save you, Jesus had to die and the enemy appear to win.
4. That is foolish to the ones who worship heroes and who thought the Messiah was going to be a powerful warlord.
5. To the ones being saved, the cross is something for which to be thankful and grateful.
6. The bad news of the Gospel is that you can’t solve your sin problem. The good news is that on the cross, Jesus did. God’s power accomplished this.
7. How do you view the cross of Jesus?–JMB
