57But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.–1 Corinthians 15
- Paul was talking about death and resurrection, sin and death. Victory comes because of the cross of Jesus.
- The power of sin to eternally condemn you as a lawbreaker was broken and disarmed by the very Jesus who died in your place.
- Jesus’ resurrection gives you hope that you otherwise would never have had.
- So now live in the reality of this victory. Do this by standing firm and not moving regarding your obedience to God.
- Many of us stand firm regarding things of this world. Things like sports and politics may get our allegiance, but living biblical truth that honors Jesus? We have to keep what’s most important, most important!
- Giving ourselves fully to the work of the Lord is our greatest mission in life.
- How do these verses land in your heart? What needs to change about your priorities in life? I always have to stay intentional regarding these.–JMB
