Jesus, Gender, and Marriage

4“Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’  5and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?6So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”–Matthew 19

  1. Jesus believes in only two genders. In fact, this means that Jesus believed in the book of Genesis!
  2. Jesus believes that a person’s gender is an intentional creation by God.
  3. Jesus believes that marriage is between a man and his wife.
  4. Jesus believes that marriage has an aspect of leaving from and and aspect of uniting to.
  5. God did not design marriage with an aspect of separating.
  6. The “one flesh” union is precious and is meant only for a husband and wife together.
  7. Is your opinion on these subjects motivated by things outside the Bible or by the Bible itself?–JMB
