Gathered and Separated

31“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he [Jesus] will sit on his glorious throne. 32All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.–Matthew 25

  1. Jesus’ favorite nickname for Himself was the Son of Man. So Jesus was obviously here talking about His return or Second Coming.
  2. These were Jesus’ own words about Judgment Day.
  3. Jesus said that He will sit on a throne. All will stand before Him.
  4. This means that Jesus will rule then. For you to be a sheep and not a goat, Jesus needs to rule in your heart now.
  5. Jesus presents an either/or situation, not a both/and. Either you will have followed Jesus or you will have not.
  6. Jesus will therefore recognize you as in one of two categories.
  7. There is no third option. Where you stand that day is where you stand. It’s not too late to follow Jesus today.–JMB
