24Moreover, Josiah put away the mediums and the necromancers and the household gods and the idols and all the abominations the\t were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might establish the words of the law that were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the LORD. 25Before him there was no king like him, who turned to the LORD with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his might, according to all the Law of Moses, nor did any like him arise after him.–2 Kings 23
- Josiah’s changes were directed by God’s Word.
- Josiah had a priestly mentor to help unpack and apply Scripture.
- Josiah then used his influence to bring necessary reforms to his nation.
- Josiah had submitted his life to God. This implies that changes were made in him, as well, as he turned to the Lord.
- So how about you? Do you have a mentor you trust to help you unpack and apply Scripture in your life?
- Do you use your influence to be a blessing to others biblically?
- Is the Bible established in your home and in your life like it was for Josiah?–JMB
