1David and the chiefs of the service also set apart for the service the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who prophesied with lyres, with harps, and with cymbals.–1 Chronicles 25
- Here, the chronicler told us that David made plans for worship services.
- I have been a part of worship services that were largely unplanned.
- I have also participated in services that were very planned.
- Worship is worship, and I can never judge another’s heart, but I have learned that excellence and planning both honors God and inspires others.
- For his individual praise, David was at times spontaneous (2 Samuel 6:14).
- But even in that chapter, David planned for a parade, for the ark, for shouting, for sacrifices, and for horns.
- Plan your worship. Make it excellent. But also spontaneously and organically worship God throughout your day.–JMB
