32Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.–Ephesians 4
- There are almost 60 “one another” verses in the New Testament.
- These provide wonderful homework assignments for the married couples that I counsel.
- Today’s verse is a famous one.
- The key reminder is your forgiveness by Jesus. Since Jesus forgave you, you can forgive the person who wronged you.
- Nobody is saying that forgiving your enemy is easy, and sadly, many times the enemy for one spouse is the other spouse, but at some point, forgiveness has to happen. This verse commands it.
- Kindness, tenderheartedness, forgiveness. These start in your thoughts, are nurtured in your feelings, and then flow out to your attitude, words, and deeds.
- So does Ephesians 4:32 describe you? The opposite is unkind, hard-hearted, and bitter.–JMB
