Assist [1-minute read]

5The Lord said to Moses, 6“Bring the tribe of Levi and present them to Aaron the priest to assist him. 7They are to perform duties for him and for the whole community at the tent of meeting by doing the work of the tabernacle. 8They are to take care of all the furnishings of the tent of meeting, fulfilling the obligations of the Israelites by doing the work of the tabernacle.9Give the Levites to Aaron and his sons; they are the Israelites who are to be given wholly to him. 10Appoint Aaron and his sons to serve as priests; anyone else who approaches the sanctuary is to be put to death.”-Numbers 3

Last chapter, God gave the army marching orders…

…but what about those not in the army?

Numbers 3 fills in details regarding the tribe of Levi, within which the family of Aaron is singled out for the priesthood. Although Levites are not soldiers, God deemed it necessary to count them and organize their work force. God had a great purpose for the Levites and sacred tasks for them to do. But first, a census of the Levites needed to be taken—a census that would affect every family in Israel. In Chapter 4, the Levites would receive their marching orders!

With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last. The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, saw how he died, he said, “Surely this man was the Son of God!” (Mark 15:37-39)

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (Hebrews 4:14-16, emphasis)

  1. EVERY PERSON MATTERS TO GOD
  2. BEHIND THE SCENES ROLES ARE INTEGRAL AND IMPORTANT
  3. BEFORE THE DEATH OF JESUS, APPROACHING GOD WAS A DEADLY SERIOUS MANNER!
  4. COME BOLDLY IN PRAYER BEFORE GOD EACH DAY IN THE NAME OF JESUS.–JMB

I kneel to God every morning after I wake up, I have faith he will make things right because he is the one in control, not me. He knows exactly what I need in this life.
