32These are the inheritances that Moses distributed in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan east of Jericho.33But to the tribe of Levi Moses gave no inheritance; the LORD God of Israel is their inheritance, just as he said to them.–Joshua 13
I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” (Lamentations 3:24)
- The Levites got no official territory as their own.
- This meant they couldn’t pass down land to their children like other tribes.
- They were chosen and set apart to serve God.
- God would take care of them and uniquely provide for their needs.
- So now this relationship with God became what they passed down.
- God was their portion, their inheritance. He became what the next generation waited for.
- I invite you to consider your legacy of faith in Christ and what you are leaving for the next generation.–JMB
