Hide or Save?

15Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. 16They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us  from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! 17For the great day of their  wrath has come, and who can withstand it?”–Revelation 6

Since we have now been justified by his [Jesus’] blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! (Romans 5:9)

  1. In John’s vision, Jesus had opened the first six seals of God’s unfolding, end-times plan.
  2. God’s wrath was being poured out on sin.
  3. You either belong to Christ and have had your sins forgiven or you have not.
  4. If you have, the blood of Jesus saves you from God’s wrath.
  5. If you have not, the best thing you can ask for is to hide from God’s wrath.
  6. It all depends on Jesus. You are either saying “Save me!” or you are calling out. “Hide me!”
  7. Which is your story? It’s not too late to trust Jesus alone for your salvation.–JMB

? the wrath was not being poured out on sin… it was being poured out on the earth because of unconfessed and habitual sin. and on the people of earth who rejected Christ?

Seems like they are neither trusting in Jesus or calling out to him.

The mountains – I believe they are calling out to as spiritual secularists – believing nature will have pity upon them, even destroying them.
