- Today’s genealogy focuses on the family line of Saul, the first king of Israel. As usual, I am highlighting a couple of names and remembering stories.
- Saul’s story is played out in the book of 1 Samuel, starting in chapter 9.
- Saul is most known for his jealousy and hatred of David, and he spent a good portion of his rule trying to kill David.
- Saul was clearly rejected by God and David chosen by God.
- Saul’s son, Jonathan, was David’s best friend.
- You can read about their friendship in 1 Samuel 18-20.
- Saul was a bad king, but raised a good son. Think about your story. Godly and biblical influence and investment matter with the people God brings into your life.–JMB
