21And when he [Jehoshaphat] had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who were to sing to the LORD and praise him in holy attire, as they went before the army, and say,
“Give thanks to the LORD, for his steadfast love endures forever.”
22And when they began to sing and praise, the LORD set an ambush…–2 Chronicles 20
- King Jehoshaphat and his nation of Judah were facing an impossible army.
- Many nations had gathered against them in battle.
- So Jehoshaphat prayed to God for deliverance.
- God responded through a prophet that Judah was going to be delivered, and to stand firm and trust the God that would be with them.
- Jehoshaphat responded by placing singers ahead of the army simply to praise God. Even before any of the fighting would take place.
- It takes a great faith to trust God and to praise Him even before He solves the problem or uniquely provides for your need.
- I am currently in a position of physical limitation regarding my body. It is frustrating and I have to trust God. I am choosing to be like Jehoshaphat and praise God even before I am delivered from this trial. How about you and what you face?–JMB
