Good and Right and Faithful

20Thus Hezekiah did throughout all Judah, and he did what was good and right and faithful before the LORD his God. 21And every work that he undertook in the service of the house of God and in accordance with the law and the commandments, seeking his God, he did with all his heart, and prospered.–2 Chronicles 31

  1. In this chapter, Hezekiah organized the priests and Levites.
  2. He also led the people in faithful giving to provide for the sacrificial ministry.
  3. Think of this like God set the budget and the kings led the people to faithfully give toward that budget.
  4. Hezekiah’s works were good in that they weren’t selfish.
  5. Hezekiah’s works were right in that they were according to Scripture.
  6. Hezekiah’s works were faithful in that they didn’t compromise with the standards of the world.
  7. Would those three words describe you as you live your life?–JMB

  1. Thank you for sharing this reflection. Those three words: good, right, and faithful are simple to read but much harder to live out consistently. I appreciate the reminder that Hezekiah’s example was not just about action, but about the heart behind those actions. Definitely something worth reflecting on personally.
