7“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or dismayed before the king of Assyria and all the horde that is with him, for there are more with us than with him. 8With him is an arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people took confidence from the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.–2 Chronicles 32

1. The nation of Judah was in a seemingly impossible situation.
2. Assyria, which had previously conquered Israel, had laid siege to Jerusalem.
3. The Assyrians were unbeatable, feared, and cocky.
4. King Hezekiah took comfort from simple theological realities.
5. God is real, He is a personal being, and He is a relational being.
6. Hezekiah’s faith was that God would help them no matter how difficult of a situation they faced.
