19And when the king [Josiah] heard the words of the Law, he tore his clothes.–2 Chronicles 34

1. Josiah was a good king who cared about the things of God.
2. He supervised a clean up of the Temple.
3. And during that overhaul, they found the book of God’s law.
4. Josiah had it read aloud, and he immediately responded with grief and repentance.
5. I sometimes journey in biblical counseling with individuals who haven’t opened their Bible in a long time.
6. When they read verses that fit their situations, they often get emotional in their responses.
7. How about you? Have you had a Josiah moment when it came to the Bible? I know I have. I didn’t tear my clothes, but I did repent.–JMB
