2Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and Jeshua the son of Jozadak arose and began to rebuild the house of God that is in Jerusalem, and the prophets of God were with them, supporting them.–Ezra 5
- The people in Jerusalem faced a decision.
- They knew what honored God, but political opponents previously stopped them.
- Now a new king was in charge.
- So they chose to prioritize God over the opposition of their day.
- I journey with men and women who are convicted by Scripture to make difficult decisions in their ives.
- Some former addicts, for example, wanted to now honor God, but faced opposition from the people around them. Others are led to ask forgiveness of those they hurt or to show grace to those who hurt them. But they find opposition finds a way to discourage them.
- God was with those ancient builders. God is also with people who are led by the Bible to make difficult personal decisions. God uses our stories for His glory. Our messes for His message.–JMB
