22…for the LORD had made them joyful and had turned the heart of the king…–Ezra 6

1. This little phrase grabbed ahold of me this morning.
2. Judah was in a place where joy might have been lacking.
3. They were allowed to return and rebuild, and then they had to stop.
4. All hinged on the decree of a foreign king.
5. But actually, all was dependent upon God.
6. God made Judah joyful in their stressful situation and turned the heart of the king favorably towards them.
7. We pray for God’s will to be done. And God’s will is never dependent upon our reaction or that of others. God sovereignly enacts his plan. For His glory and ultimately for our good!–JMB
