13And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.–1 Thessalonians 2

1. Paul reminded the Thessalonians of how they received him and his apostolic teaching.
2. They took it as coming ultimately from God, and not some manmade speech from Paul.
3. This gives us a good reminder about the Bible.
4. Do you receive it as from God or as from man?
5. Human authors were inspired by God. The Scripture is God-breathed not man-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16).
6. Even though Paul wrote 1 Thessalonians, we receive it as the word of God and not simply as a cultural expression from over 2000 years ago.
