Pleasure in Understanding

2Fools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in airing their own opinions.–Proverbs 18

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. (James 1:19-20)

  1. What part of the James verse is yours to apply? Where are you convicted?
  2. Listening? Speaking? Angry?
  3. Regarding the proverb, Is your first move to understand others?
  4. Or is your first move to be understood?
  5. Do people exist simply to receive your words?
  6. Or do you find delight in understanding others?
  7. I always have to stay intentional here. Do you?–JMB
