But Barnabas Took Him

26When he [Saul] came to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he really was a disciple. 27But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus. –Acts 9

  1. Imagine being in the position of those early Christians.
  2. Your worst enemy–who once persecuted you for your faith–now shared your faith.
  3. Would you be skeptical? Maybe you would be afraid or would keep your distance.
  4. But then there was Barnabas.
  5. Barnabas vouched for Saul. You are a Christian today because he did.–JMB
