9So I said, “The thing that you are doing is not good. Ought you not to walk in the fear of our God to prevent the taunts of the nations our enemies?–Nehemiah 5
- The returned exiles were in a vulnerable position.
- Leaders were enforcing heavy taxes, and the people were having to go into debt to pay them.
- Nehemiah responded with the verse above.
- Think about your own life. Ponder the goodness of the choices you make.
- Consider what those choices communicate about your fear of God to the people around you.
- Is what you are doing good? Your standard is the Bible.
- I regularly sit before accountability brothers who would call me out if I was not honoring God. I recommend having biblical accountability in your life.–JMB
